This initiative started in 2012 when two friends decided to hike a mountain in Utah on a Sunday afternoon before one of the friends had to leave to live at sea level on an island away from the mountains he loved so dearly. This blog is dedicated to the notion that you can "climb mountains" wherever you are.

A Near Summit
Today I raced the Alpenglow 20k freestyle, which is part of the Fischer Cup here locally. I was second place, and it was the funnest race I've done all season. There just aren't many 1-lap 20k ski races these days. Tahoe XC did a great job pulling it off. I'm stealing Wilson's podium summit idea and saying that I was near the summit today. Congrats to Noah on a good race. Here is my trophy:
