Surviving Moose Mt.

This is my first post on Summit Sunday!  This morning, my good friend Todd Anderson and I went on a run in the woods around Hanover, NH.  Our highest point was Moose Mt. which is only 2222ft high.  This is not so high by our lofty Utah standards, but I feel that we get some bonus elevation when you consider that we reached the peak in a direct shot from our front door.  Also, while Moose Mt. is entirely below the tree line, and while it has a truly adorable name, don't allow yourself to be fooled; this is no tame hilltop.  Despite our best posturing and forced smiles, we are ever wary of the hidden dangers that shroud the mountain.  In 1968, a plane crashed into the mountainside, and 32 victims were claimed in the foggy palisades.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeast_Airlines_Flight_946  Indeed, just today, Todd and I stepped in quite a few puddles, and nearly slipped on some rather wet rocks.

Not scene in this picture is Todd's beer belly.
