Welcome to Summit Sunday! This initiative started in 2012 when two friends decided to hike a mountain in Utah on a Sunday afternoon before one of the friends had to leave to live at sea level on an island away from the mountains he loved so dearly. This blog is dedicated to the notion that you can "climb mountains" wherever you are.

Tetons
Went to the Tetons for a job interview and ended up staying the week. Got Little Grand on my own and learned a valuable lesson of packing more than just rice and noodles for food. I lost 7 pounds in three days and couldn't have been happier to eat a cheese burger and drink a beer back in Jackson. I felt at home here and plan on making the move this spring. A man did fall 1000 feet to his death the Sunday I was there. He was trying to climb the Grand Teton. Between the rescue helicopters and the thunder storm it was a very frightening night and I was very sad to hear of the death when I got down to Jenny Lake. I guess that's a risk we all take in the pursuit of happiness. Be safe my Summit Sundayers.
